Time, once again, to set things in motion! The
Springville Playhouse 2010 season opens in March with
Scapino, and tomorrow is the first practice. This is going to be great! From what I've read of the script, this Scapino guy reminds me of Max Klinger (after he quit wearing dresses), and if he had been played by Robin Williams. He seems a bit of a conniver and a scoundrel, and he has fun doing it. It'll be loads of fun getting better acquainted with this trickster. The play bearing his name, penned in 1970 by Frank Dunlop and Jim Dale, is based on Moliere’s 1671 comedy entitled The Trickeries of Scapin. The 2010 Springville Playhouse production of
Scapino is being directed by Roger Nelson.
